Translations are context sensitive. If no context is given several translations are possible. I have limited myself to giving only one. If you are unsure whether your translation is correct, you can post it on our forum.

1. 竹と木

Bamboo and wood / Bamboo and trees
 
Take to ki
 
Remember that 木 can have two meanings, と can mean both "and" and "with"
 
2. 林と森

  はやしともり
 
A wood and a forest / Woods and a forest
 
Hayashi to mori
 
Look at the kanji, the more trees, the bigger the forest
 
3. 町と村

Towns and villages
 
Machi to mura
 
You can use both plural and singular
 
4. 山と岩

Mountains and rocks
 
Yama to iwa
 
Note the top of the character 岩 and how it resembles 山
 
5. 谷と川と田

A valley, a river and ricefields
 
Tani to kawa to ta
 
Feel free to use plural and singular to make it flow more smoothly
 
6. 竹山さんと林田さん

Takeyama-san to Hayashida-san
 
さん is honorific, check the hiragana for voiced consonants
 
7. 山田さんと竹田さん

Mr. Yamada and Mr. Takeda
 
Yamada-san to Takeda-san
 
In names 田 often gets a voiced consonant
 
8. 山の川

の can make the first statement descriptive of the second statement
 
9. 森山さんの本

の can also mean "of" or "with"

中 can mean both "in" and "inside"

上 can mean both "on" and "above"

下 can mean both "under" and "bottom"

中村さんの田 and 田中さんの田 are different 田
 
20. 山の上の木と山の下の木

The trees on top of the mountain and the trees at the foot of the mountain
 
Yama no ue no ki to yama no shita no ki
 
山の上の木 and 山の下の木 are visibly different 木
 
21. 岩下さんと木田さんの本

The books of Mr. Iwashita and Mr. Kida
 
Iwashita-san to Kida-san no hon
 
Translate this the same way as if it said 岩下さんの本と木田さんの本
 
22. 山本さんと村山さんの田

  やまもとさんとむらやまさんのた
 
The rice fields of Mr. Yamamoto and Mr. Murayama
 
Yamamoto-san to Murayama-san no ta
 
Translate this the same way as if it said 山本さんの田と村山さんの田
 
23. 山田の竹下さん
translation | transcription | hint
  やまだのたけしたさん
 
Mr. Takeshita from Yamada
 
Yamada no Takeshita-san
 
さん is honorific and indicates a person, if さん is not written it's a city
 
24. 上田の山中さん
translation | transcription | hint
  うえだのやまなかさん
 
Mr. Yamanaka from Ueda
 
Ueda no Yamanaka-san
 
If さん isn't added to a name, it's a geographic name
 
25. 山田の中川さんと上田の谷村さんとの田
translation | transcription | hint
  やまだのなかがわさんとうえだのたにむらさんとのた
 
The rice field of Mr. Nakagawa from Yamada and Mr. Tanimura from Ueda
 
Yamada no Nakagawa-san to Ueda no Tanimura-san to no ta
 
との田 means shared ownership
 
26. 山田の林さんと上田の森さんとの本
translation | transcription | hint
  やまだのはやしさんとうえだのもりさんとのほん
 
The books of Mr. Hayashi from Yamada and of Ms. Mori from Ueda
 
Yamada no Hayashi-san to Ueda no Mori-san to no hon
 
との means shared ownership or a not clearly defined distinction
 
27. 森田さんと山下さんと森下さんと本田さん

  もりたさんとやましたさんともりしたさんとほんださん
 
Mr. Morita, Mr. Yamashita, Mr. Morishita and Mr. Honda
Morita-san to Yamashita-san to Morishita-san to Honda-san
Don't translate like a robot, make your translations natural without changing the meaning
