Select a different operating
system
Mac OS 9 and OS X have Japanese support embedded.
1. Insert the OS installation CD-ROM in your computer
2. Double-click the "Mac OS Install" icon.
3. Click the "Add/Remove" button.
4. Check "Language Kits" and select "Customized Installation...".
5. Check "Software for the Japanese language" and click
"OK".
6. Restart your computer.
7. Click the Apple icon in the top left.
8. Select "Control Panels" > "Appearance".
9. Click the "Fonts" tab and under "View Fonts"
select a Japanese font (like "Osaka").
For older versions of Mac OS, a Japanese Language Kit used to be
available. But considering the price of the software, and the fact
that Apple no longer produces it, We recommend upgrading to OS 9
or OS X.
